Not many know or remember that most of the judicial precedents enjoyed by politicians & parties today ,are as a result of this corrupt mans dogged commitment to the development of our democracy. I cant remember any politician- living or dead, that has sought to test the & explore the safeguards provided by the constitution & our laws to protect our democracy, in the law courts, rather than engage in cheap & lazy grandstanding more than Atiku .Even when he ran for political offices, he allowed ideas run his campaigns rather than anachronistic base appeals or sentiments. At the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) convention, he won again. Hear him....Congratulations General Buhari. The delegates have spoken, you fully deserve the victory....I am very confident that you will provide the needed leadership to turn this country around. I have no doubt that you will work with dedicated and qualified Nigerians to protect our citizens, improve our economy, create jobs, improve education, reform governance and fight corruption. You will indeed bring the change Nigerians have been yearning for. Once more, congratulations..... I thank our delegates for their sacrifices and their commitment to democracy. In particular, I thank those who voted for me for your faith in me. However, since we came up short, we have to now rally behind General Buhari to help him prevail in the coming Presidential election. This singular act of statesmanship & sportsmanship has put Atiku in a world, miles apart from the rest of the pack. Everyone was scared of the implosion that was to follow after the APCs presidential primaries, Atiku ended up putting a lid on that bottle of fear. Indeed he belled the cat all alone. Today, the big guns & wigs in APC are gloating over a massively acknowledged successful & well organized convention & described by some as the best party primaries/convention in the history of Nigeria, yet they forget that only one man made it possible & his name is ATIKU ABUBAKAR ATIKU, the TURAKI ADAMAWA . Today members of APC are proud to talk about signposting INTERNAL DEMOCRACY. But they all forget that it was the doggedness of Atiku & stubborn insistence on primaries as against the party leaders consensus agenda that made yesterday possible. In the end Gen Muhammadu Buhari won the primaries, but Atiku won the battle for the survival of our malnourished democratic effort. God bless & keep Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Atiku.
