Knedler for Liberty in Ohio Voter FREEDOM and CHOICES are NOT NEGOTIABLE Voting is a pillar of a free society, including the right to vote for ANY candidate of one’s choice. Yet in Ohio we have seen an open attack on the concept of open and fair elections. This includes efforts to gerrymander districts to provide safe havens for incumbents; the passage of a law that will make it tougher for minor parties and their candidates to participate; and the effort orchestrated by Republicans to remove the Libertarian candidate for Governor, Charlie Earl, from the 2014 ballot. At some point in the future, the Libertarians may have an opportunity to discuss their future and access to the ballot in Ohio. Although we are willing to sit down and discuss the issue, I find it APPALLING that we have to “negotiate” for our 1st amendment rights with elections and voting. Negotiation implies there is more than one side to an issue. There should be only ONE side and that is the side of FREEDOM with open and fair elections that include multiple choices of candidates and political parties. Kevin J.
