Knees are a very delicate area of the body and are easily injured through constant use or misuse. Be mindful when doing cardio, lifting weights or using machines that you dont lock your knees, which means putting them in full extension so that your legs are completely straight, as it puts maximum stress on the joint, increasing your risk for injury! Fully flexing your knees, as in deep squatting, also increases stress and can cause pain or injury, too. Believe it or not, even sitting for long periods with your knees bent at 90° or more can stress the knee joint as knees need to move. Try to avoid the locked-need position when exercising, or doing any activity for that matter, and dont sit for too long without getting up and moving around if you want to avoid pain and injury and keep your knees happy!
