This is timely as MSU President Macapado Muslim is pushing for a global university with infrastructure being built and this comes almost a month after the City Mayor Sultan Fahad Salic called an Assembly at the City Hall to empower the police to enforce compliance with traffic, garbage , parking, among other regulations . Lending mobilization support were Director Linang Macabalang of Agakhan Museum , Edsal Edres, Aquisa Barazer of City Government, Inspired Young Optimists Guild (IYOG) One Ranaw TV program, and KARANCHO .Online and text campaign is a valuable action by the youth and radio . MSU is the biggest campus in Mindanao with 15,000 students and 7 barangays sorrounding the campus. Each store in MSU was urged to set up two sorts of garbage bins with signage written recyclables and non-recyclables. Composting of food waste was urged as 95 percent of waste per household can be of value while 5 percent should only be thrown out. This would dramatically REDUCE our waste and DECREASE THE PILING OF DUMP in prohibited OPEN PITS around Lanao del Sur and Marawi City. Elected were officers (Golden Bytes etc ) to form a core group to represent the interest of business establishments n the MSU Taskforce and ESWM Board . Some of the 86 businesses who attended include Gergens store, Pizzaderia, R-N Store, Bag Mamas, Dining Room, Gem Store, Namirah Snack Inn, Hairees Cosmetics, Chicken Shanne, Al-Kauthar, Tweetimus, Jicos, Vilmas Eatery, Miicrostar, Dackies Fried Chicken, Rhatsous, Alographics Art and Xerox, Ranao Resto, Mishkas Chicken . City Health officer Amirah Mapupuno explained the mechanics of obtaining a sanitary inspection noting only 2 inspectors from City Health Office could go into the establishments. The ESWM Board urged every establishment to welcome the inspectors as well police who would assist. CHO was suggested to tap the MSU Infirmary and barangay BPATs to increase its monitors . To avoid displaying garbage, garbage was urged to be placed within the establishments premises and coordinate a text to the garbage collector on WHAT TIME is the collection . And to connect to junk shop collectors for the selling of plastic and recyclables. Knock, knock garbage collector , was the question of business establishments who sought the contact number of the garbage collector to throw out garbage when the garbage truck comes. They proposed more garbage trucks be made available and that stinking drainage systems in Commercial Center be looked into . Officials who attended included Chairperson of the ESWM Board former ARMM Secretary Najma Mokiin Malna , MSU Vice Chancellor Mariam Diron who chairs the MSU 53rd Anniversary Committee on Beautification , MSU Taskforce Chairperson Director Amer PAngandaman (Alumni Relations), City Police Deputy Mama, JTFR head Carbangco, Major Abdullah Mocsana (103rd Brigade), Chief Nurse Rebecca Moti of the MSU Infirmary, KARANCHO and some 40 business representatives. Clean people, clean environment , 2- Kalinisan ng Marawi, Kalinisan ko, were some of the messages shared to combat lack of SWM compliance. September 29 is another forum to launch the partnership with the barangay captains who by law, RA 9003 are tasked to set up the SWM committees (through Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams/tanods and enforcers) . MSU is hosting 53rd anniversary celebrations and will see crowds coming into campus .
