Know What You Are Aiming At (1) “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible crown.” I Cor. 9:25 KJV You need to discipline yourself spiritually because there is something you are looking for. There is a direction you are going. There is a goal you want to achieve. You are targeting something. It is difficult to embrace discipline if there is no goal you are pursuing. Therefore, you must know what you are aiming at otherwise you will live carelessly. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). What do you want to achieve by the end of the year? You still have about 7 ½ weeks to go. How far do you want to go? What do you want to achieve as a Christian in the coming year? Look at 2014; what target are you setting for your business, family, career and ministry? What do you want to achieve next year? Until you answer these questions you cannot be focused in life. Beloved, you must have a direction for your life and a goal you are aiming at so that when you get there, you will know that you are there. You can’t be shooting aimlessly and expect that you will get somewhere. Are all your efforts aimed towards reaching your set goals? What financial results are you shooting at? If you are building a house, how far do you want to go with that building? If you intend to go for a course, when will it be, what date and time have you set for yourself? What are your strategies? What are your plans? What are you doing to realize your plans? Stop following the crowd. Stop moving up and down without really knowing what you want to achieve. Aim your life at something. You want a job? What type of job and what are the efforts you are making towards getting that job? I rebuke aimless wandering in your life. May the Lord show you the path to walk in today, may He paint a clear goal before you and fill you with discipline and zeal to pursue the goal and may you arrive at that goal in Jesus name.
