Know your history - 58 years ago today, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. It wasnt the 1st time an African American woman was arrested for not giving up her seat on a bus. And she didnt stay on the bus because she was tired. From her own autobiography: “I was not tired physically,” she wrote, “or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was forty-two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.” She was a civil rights activist before this, and she continued to be involved long after this day in history. * How do you take part in activism today? *
