Knowing God provides versus SEEING, in real time, His perfect - TopicsExpress

Knowing God provides versus SEEING, in real time, His perfect provision can leave us mere humans overwhelmed by His awesome power. Some know, some do not, about the most recent events that have surrounded my family. Renee and Malachi have lived with my husband and myself since Edwards stroke in July. All along we were there to help THEM push through a very difficult transition in their lives. It was all about us helping them. On December 17th, my husband Dean became sick. Nothing to be alarmed by... just a bad Winter cold. This cold wound up being an acute case of Influenza-A and also developed an extreme case of pneumonia. Per the Drs insight, Dean by all accounts could have died at home due to lung failure and was far from stable when he was admitted. After 5 days in the ICU and additional days in standard hospital care, he is home resting and has a 6-8 week recovery ahead. Right under my own roof, I had a wife that I could cry with because she understands first hand what it is like to hear Drs say that you might lose your husband-- your young, healthy, vibrant husband. Dean had a fellow husband that was able to visit him in the ICU, hold his hand, and look into his eyes with direct understanding and empathy for the bewilderment of how this all happened. Edward understands the struggle to have your body completely revolt against your desire to be normal again. It is only by the divine grace of God that we were brought together as 2 families that would unexpectedly battle through some very dark days. A couple months ago, Dean and I took some posters to Edwards room to bring him encouragement and remind him that even if he cant control his body, he CAN control his outlook. Edward came to ICU and loaned Dean the very poster we gave him. CHOOSE JOY. We all have the choice each day to choose discouragement, or choose joy. Our physical bodies may not follow suit, but our hearts can be filled with the hope and joy of Christ our Savior-- who suffered beyond what any single person can imagine. Merry Christmas to all.
