Knowing Gods voice. Part 7 “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part” 1.Corinthians.13:9 4. God can also speak to us using third party e.g pastors, prophets, friends or even a total stranger. God can reveal your matter to them or confirm His word you already received through them. Read: 2 Kings 4:18-27. The Shunamite woman ran to prophet Elisha concerning the sudden death of her son and Elisha said “ And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet : but Gehazi came near to thrust her away, And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: AND THE LORD HATH HID IT FROM ME, AND HATH TOLD ME NOT” No man is all sufficient and knows it all hence God knows when to speak to us directly and when to use someone for us. God can also use you for other people as a channel of transmitting His message. Examples from the Scriptures Elisha to the Shunamite woman in 2Kings 4. Jonah to the city of Nineveh in the book of Jonah Samuel to Saul when he disobeyed God in 1.Samuel 13:11-14 Isaiah to Hezekiah when the later was at the point of death in 2Kings 20:1-21 Nathan to David after he plotted the death of Uriah e.t.c. WARNING: Let a Bible teaching and a holy living pastor watch over your matter and be prayerful about it. The pastors and God’s prophet can speak the mind of God to us but you don’t go all your life patronizing one prophet to the other. Watch out! False prophets are everywhere. Mathew. 7:15 and 2Peter 2:13 Be wise about whatever any prophet tells you and evaluate it with the word of God. Go back to the Lord for confirmation. Why? PLEASE STUDY: 1.Kings. 13:1-24. The story is about a particular prophet whom God sent on an errand…God instructed him not to eat nor drink…unfortunately another old prophet told him a contrary message AND HE OBEYED THE VOICE OF THE PROPHET. This passage will bless your life.
