Knowing about ticks is actually pretty important, especially if u have pets. Theres a lot of false information out there so do ur research. I personally have noticed an increase in ticks in the last several years but fortunately the ones we almost always see are dog ticks, not deer ticks. The deer tick or the black legged tick are the only ones that carry Lyme disease in the northeast, thankfully! I used to go an entire year with maybe only ever seeing one or two ticks, but in the last few years that number has risen significantly. Our pets have flea/tick meds on them 24/7, from March-November or so, and they still pick them up on occasion. So know ur stuff, especially if ur not using flea meds on ur animals!
