Knowing the history of Ween and how it all came undone adds so much weight to this song. After 28 years in the band Gene called it quits. Decades of substance abuse and fan worship had taken its toll. In 2012 he walked away, announcing the end of the band before his bandmates (particularly his partner in crime, Dean) even knew about it. Fans turned on him and he failed to give any explanation for his actions... then in 2014 he released his album FREE-MAN, which gave us a look into his mind set at the time. This opening track is heartbreaking. If you know the rock life or know how important WEEN were to fans then this song will strike a chord. Its gut-wrenching and uplifting all at once. RIP Gene Ween.
