Knowingly or unknowingly (planned or coincidental) both PTI and PAT have sabotaged democracy or may have been used as tools to achieve the objective. PTI’s original demand of recounting on 10 seats would have made no strategic difference even if they have won all the seats. A few thousand people marching and demand resignation from an elected government is counterproductive and may initiate a treacherous tradition. What happen if PTI forms the government and Islamists come to Islamabad? Even more surprizing is the support of largely expatriate intellectual elite supporting the undemocratic move in a very compulsive and philistine way. People flogging the ‘have nots’ revolution needs to understand that the ‘have nots’ are happy with the status quo as there is always a chance for short cut or they are simply mesmerized by the ‘big’ personalities. These ‘have nots’ have supported the so called ‘corrupt’ leaders in every single election. Regardless who stays in power the status quo is guaranteed now.
