Knowledge for the Soul - Daily Al Qahhar (The Subduer) Allah, the Al Qahhar is the one who has subdued everything. The one before whom the whole creation has humbled itself and submitted before Him. The universe runs according to laws laid down by Allah swt. None can reverse them. His will is free and nothing can hinder it. Say, Who is Lord of the heavens and earth? Say, Allah Say, Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm? Say, Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allah partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them? Say, Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing.(Surat Ar-Ra`d: V. 16) Al-Qahhar is the One Whose vengeance nobody can withstand. He humiliates those who are enemy to Him (swt), His messenger (PBUH) and the believers. When one tends to disobey Allah, one must think of His infinite power and that He may punish the sinners in any way He wills. Allah, the Al Qahhar has subdued the souls of the believers by instilling in their hearts the fear of His retribution and the souls of those who love Him by unveiling the truth about Him to them. He has subdued all beings by death, so none is safe from Him, not even the angle of death who is in charge of putting people to death. When we submit to Allah, He will satisfy our needs. And when we do not, He will make us suffer as we try go about our ways. Everyone and everything is helpless in His grip. Truly believing in this attribute of Al-Qahhar is to subdue oneself, ones nafs and control his evil desires inspired by Shaytaan by not following what they inspire him to do and by returning to Allah, submitting to His will in all matters.
