Knowledge is POWER I do not subscribe to the idea that hiding information from the public is an ideal option to prevent alarm or bad publicity. In my view, that is akin to a parent who decides not to give food to a child because that parent thinks the child would throw-up or develop an allergy of some kind. Should that fear persist without intervention, inevitably, the child could suffer from malnutrition etc. An informed parent would prepare and feed the child with food he/she could consume with little to no debilitating effect. This analogy is relevant to communicating sensitive information to any public.The approach/solution is embedded in the method (s) used to prepare and publish/feed the public sensitive information. Keeping people uninformed often creates an environment polluted with rumour, ignorance and even conflict. Knowledge is power.
