Knowledge is free, sort of, but getting there is expensive. - TopicsExpress

Knowledge is free, sort of, but getting there is expensive. Leonardo of Pisas book, Liber Abaci, is now available in a full text translation. Its been available for 11 years, but we had to wait 801 years for that translation to be made. Thats the book that introduced what are referred to as Fibonacci Numbers. Since my wife loves math, and is sort of interested in the middle ages, that was on the list for her this year. The problem is that its only available in paperback, and those paperbacks cost eighty bucks. So, she got Stephen Kings new book instead. I suppose I am indeed b*tching about how expensive things are, but It is frustrating to find the perfect gift and not be able to plunk down the cash.
