Knox-Met wins international communications prize Knox-Metropolitan United Church has won a 2014 Communications Church of the Year award from ChurchJuice, an organization seeking to improve the quality of church communications. Each year, ChurchJuice grants cash to churches “who’ve worked to improve their church communications during the last year.” The prize goes to entrants in both the small- and large-church categories. Knox-Metropolitan United won $1,000 as a runner-up for small church communications with its newsletter, STAR. One judge remarked that “Knox-Met invested in making a contemporary newsletter and totally pulled it off. This project serves as an example of how to make your church newsletter relevant in 2014 and beyond.” Dan Coggins of Pitchgreen Communications created the STAR newsletter through a contract position with the 125-year-old church. This is the fourth year for the Juicys. Previous winners have included churches across the United States, Vancouver, and Toronto.
