Ko Aung Chit Khin is currently in the United States, participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on Volunteerism and Youth ASEAN. IVLP is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Here’s what Ko Aung Chit Khin has to say about his trip to the United States: “I’m truly inspired by the systems and processes of the US government agencies and leading non-profit organizations that have been empowering American and global youths through volunteerism. It’s an enlightening experience to learn how volunteerism not only benefits the receivers but also build character for the young people engaged in the good causes. My mind is filled with ideas to be implemented when I get back. Travelling with like-minded colleagues from the ASEAN is definitely a major advantage.
