Ko Nyi Nyi, the Koh Samui Myanmar/Rakhine migrant - TopicsExpress

Ko Nyi Nyi, the Koh Samui Myanmar/Rakhine migrant paralysed/disabled work accident victim (accident occurred allegedly at Blue Lagoon resort, Chaweng beach, Samui) has now had a successful operation to seek to address severe infection of bed sores at Koh Samui hospital and is now back in his friends construction camp site room again, on a mountain secluded area of Koh Samui. The Koh Samui social security office allegedly cannot yet order anything on his case as the employer and worksite owner of Blue Lagoon claims Ko Nyi Nyi was not employed by them and had not started work when his accident occurred, although they allegedly accept the accident did occur. But Nyi Nyi claims he had already swiped in his employee card and was working. Witnesses of the incident are either scared or unwilling to come forth to the social security office for fear of losing their jobs and livelihoods. Without an official SSO order that Nyi Nyi was employed at the worksite where his accident occurred, he cannot access desperately needed care and rehabilitation at the social security office rehabilitation center in Nakhon Pathom. He currently has no official support. Every two days Nyi Nyi has to spend 2,000 baht hiring a taxi to take him to a clinic to clean his severe wounds as the hospital allegedly cannot keep him there so he had to return home. Nyi Nyis brother is full time cared and neither have any income. They are dependent on support from others. Please continue to support Nyi Nyi through these difficult days until he can officially access the social security office assistance schemes. So far direct donations to his bank account and via MWRN totaled over 30,000 baht and a wheelchair and medical supplies and this has enabled Nyi Nyi to survive more comfortably. But we still need more assistance from him. You can donate direct to his bank account or via MWRN to assist him. Thanks.
