Kobes comment (from what Ive seen) was a reflective comment - indicating his thoughts at the time, on the massive hoodie wearing support rolling across the country which the Miami Heat endorsed through their team photo. He also felt and through implication, understood that this effort most certainly had a very high level, racial component attached to it along with the inflammatory, politically correct pressure to show solidarity (to deny this aspect of the events is disingenuous). People are upset - and lets be clear here, when I say people I mean black American people, history included - because hes black and appears by his comments to not support a Black Cause. Thats what it comes down to. Kobe has at times not been fully accepted in the black community because of his comments, his upbringing, his seemingly callousness at a myriad of subjects. This is just one more log on that constant burning fire. Logs not withstanding, this does not mean he didnt have a point about that team photo, campaign. I am never a fan of mass campaigns and doing something just because everyone else is doing it. Kobe apparently isnt either. Unlike me, hes a popular/polarizing figure who, when his opinion is voiced, turns the crowds, the fan pages over. Sometimes, when you are capable of being heard, it might be best to say nothing.
