Kogi Council Chairman Suspended. The Dekina Local Government Council in Kogi State has suspended its Chairman, Mohammed Ali, over alleged misconduct. This information was disclosed in a statement signed by 10 councilors out of 11, the Chairman was suspended consequent upon the resolution of the councilors for alleged financial misappropriation and misconduct. The councilors said that Ali was suspended pending the conclusion of an investigation into misconduct of the chairman. It was gathered that the incident occured on Tuesday at the Local Government secretariat in Dekina, as armed thugs suspected to be sponsored by the executive arm of the Local Government invaded the council chambers while the councilors were holding their legislative proceedings. Some of the councilors were said to have sustained injuries while others escaped from the vicinity for their safety. However, effort to reach the Chairman for an interview failed.
