Koke not interested in £48m Manchester United move Manchester United target Koke is prepared to reject interest from Old Trafford and Barcelona, despite the fact that both clubs would be ready to meet his high release clause. According to talkSPORT the La Liga ace has admitted that he is honoured to have been linked with the Catalan giants, but played down talk of a transfer away from the Vicente Calderon this summer, by stating his desire to remain with Atletico Madrid. The 22-year-old has attracted a large number of top quality suitors courtesy of his performances last season, and new United boss Louis van Gaal is said to rank him amongst his top targets. However the Dutchman will be forced into forgetting about Koke, as the playmaker admitted that he sees himself very much an Atletico player as of next season, and isn’t looking to move away. “I still havent had time to read what has come out. I am on holiday and I plan to disconnect,” Koke said. Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world and that they are interested in you means that you must be doing something right. That is very nice for a footballer. In any case, I only think about keeping working. I want to stay here and everyone knows it. I see myself at Atletico next season. The comments will be a boost of confidence for Diego Simeone, who must have feared a mass exodus of his star players given how much success his side enjoyed last term.
