Korazin was this ruin up on a hill. We managed to fit it in - TopicsExpress

Korazin was this ruin up on a hill. We managed to fit it in between rain storms. Really cool architecture from the Byzantine period. It was a Jewish village that Jesus was said to have cursed them for their unwillingness to accept his teachings. Three things struck me about it. First the stones are all black in this part of the Sea of Galilee. Called basalt stone. Comes from volcano activity in the area. Such a contrast from stones we have seen elsewhere. Besides the building remnants I loved when Joseph explained the tradition of the Jewish people and their practice to take a bath before they pray. Remnants of one of those baths were there. Also on this site was a seat of Moses that Jesus sat on and taught from in his time. They have the original seat in a museum so this one we saw was a replicate. Barely got it in before the rain came again.
