Korea. A culture which worships Whiteness. A conformist culture with a deadly illness of confucianism resting heavily in the air. Koreans change their eyes and nose to look Caucasian. The belief that White= beautiful, rich, and high status is so prevalent that they even expect Whites to presume such a despicable belief. However,its not really all their fault. When you see Hollywood movies who belong to the most powerful civilizations, you cant help but feel like becoming them is how you climb up the social ladder. Its irrational but very understandable psychologically. Even when you see the way friendships operate, there are striking examples of inclusion and exclusion. Like japan it’s one of the rare countries, in which there are countless bullies. These bullies are incomparable to that of the US, because almost all of these bullies BRUTALLY beat up and humiliate those they find simply different. Someone who is different is extremely frowned up in Korea. When they even treat themselves this way, imagine how worse it is for foreigners. I’ve seen the way Koreans treat Vietnamese. I think they’re one of the minorities who have it the worst in Korea. People think the suicide rates in Japan and Korea are simply due to strict academics. Unfortunately, many of them commit suicide because their friends have turned against them for being different. Locking them up in bathrooms and making their life so miserable to the point of seeing no other way of attaining peace. I love Korea. Its food, passionate culture, pretty language, and humble history. True love is honest. It’s time we confront these issues honestly.
