Koyle pe kohraam,! Its an effort of prashant bhushan and India against corruption team... Unke liye Jo bolte hain AK sirf dharna krta hai! Aj proof ho Gaya ki dharna krne se hi result milte hain! The Aam Aadmi Party welcomes the Supreme Court judgment cancelling 214 coal blocks allotted illegally and arbitrarily by the successive governments led by the the Congress and the BJP since 1993. The judgment will have long lasting impact and would discourage the unscrupulous corporates and politicians, who abuse their position of power to plunder the natural resources of the country. These precious resources belong the people of the country and not politicians and corporates. The judgment vindicates Aam Aadmi Partys stand from day one that the allocations had been done in lieu of huge pay offs and not for countrys growth and development, as claimed by the successive governments led by the BJP and the Congress. Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai had observed a fast from 26 July 2012 to 3 August 2012 demanding investigation into the coal scam. On 26 August 2012, the Aam Aadmi party had carried out a protest at the residences of the then Prime Minister Dr, Manmohan Singh and Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. The Aam Aadmi Party did not stop at fasts and protests. Partys senior leader and a member of the Political Affairs Committee Prashant Bhushan pursued the matter in the Supreme Court. It was his tireless crusade for two years that brought the case to the logical end today. The Aam Aadmi Party congratulates its leader Prashant Bhushan for taking on the powerful and the mighty in the country and to finally ensuring justice for his fellow countrymen. It is relieving that the Supreme Court has accepted the finding of the Comptroller & Auditor General that the loss incurred by the government exchequer due the scam was Rs. 295 per tonne. The sheer fact that the Supreme Court declared all allocations since 1993 as illegal and arbitrary has clearly indicted both the BJP and the Congress in the scam. This case should serve as an eye opener, because when erstwhile Team Anna had held a press conference on May 26, 2012 demanding SIT probe into the coal scam, the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had declared that he would quit politics if even an iota of truth were to be found in the allegations of irregularities in coal block allocations. It would be interesting to know his stand today. The judgment of the apex court has reinforced Aam Aadmis belief in fairness of judiciary and the checks and balances envisaged in our constitution.
