Krachi-Nchimuru DCE Scores High Story: Witty K. Adusu In spite the recent agitations against some Presidential nominees and others seeking confirmation from their Assembly members, the Krachi-Nchimuru District Chief Executive, DCE Mr. Solomon Kuyon, has proved that DCEs with the people at heart, could do better for their areas. This young but hard working District Chief Executive, within nine months of creation of his the district, has raised about Ghc571, 030.00 on developmental projects littering across the District. As part of his vision for the district, Mr. Solomon Kuyon awarded contract for the construction of a Very Important Persons’ (VIP) Lodge/Guest House and public places of convenience or toilet facilities at ear-marked areas, to be able to generate income for the Krachi Nchimuru-Chinderi District Assembly. The Republic, upon the direction from the DCE, was conducted to see the extent to which the new district has been rapidly developed and number of projects spreading across it. The District Assembly’s Engineer, Mr. Michael Dorcoo, accompanied by the Planning Officer, Mr. James and one Sidney, an official, during his usual working visit to the sites, conducted this reporter round to that about 87% of the projects are completed. Some of these developmental projects with their break-downs include 6-unit classroom block plus office and other facility in Gurubi; costing Ghc100, 032.00, a primary school at 85% complete to replace a thatch-roofed classroom. Also, a 3-unit classroom blocks for Bejams Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) JHS at Papatia, with an office and store, amongst others, worth Ghc10032.00. There is also under construction, a Police station with a sizeable charge office, CID Office, 3 cells for male, female and juvenile plus a conference hall, costing Ghc193, 000.00 with 97% complete, and soon to be handed over to the police to save the lives of personnel operating in a death-trapped office at Chinderi. Others are ten seated aqua-privy public toilet facility estimated at Ghc70, 000.00, in Banda, fencing of a large Brae market and construction of new Anyi-mae market, both costing Ghc133, 000.00, which the Assembly would take delivery in 9 weeks time. This were few amongst many other projects the hard working DCE, Hon. Solomon Kuyon, is under taking in about nine months old Krachi Nchimuru-Chinderi District carved from Krachi in the North part of the Volta Region. According to the young but hard working DCE, one of the challenges the district faces, is the bad nature of the roads. Meanwhile farming is the only serious economic activities for the people in the community. In view of that, he led the Assembly to procure heavy duty equipments to make the un-tar roads motorable. This is to enable the vehicles conveyed the farm produce from the farms to the market centres, then to other parts of the country, he stressed. Hon. Kuyon prayed the central government assist the district to tar the major roads in the area. Most of the roads are motorable but need to be tarred; to curtail the incidence of too many dusts which is another health problem for the people, he cried. therepublicgh
