Kranti Sambhav? (First pamphlet of YBM) Naujawan Bharat, an expression is used very often these days but I fear that very few of us even have an understanding of such sense of responsibility and expectations that the country have from us. Do we ever think of our responsibility towards the place where we are born? Have you made Munirka a better place to live? Do I have any hope from any of my Village men? The answer that you will get from most of us will be “Do not have any hopes from me; I’m no agent of change”. Leave apart others we shy away from standing up even for our own cause. My friends, what are we afraid of? What keeps us so passive? Why are we so dead? There is this invisible hoarding hanging on our unzipped mind which reads “Faltu ki sirdardi kaun le, Jaisa chal ra hai chalne do”. We don’t want to unzip our mind and look for alternatives to change our surroundings and we just pacify our mind by criticizing others. We just hold on to the old order which is familiar and comfortable “rent aa raha hai ji aane do, khamaka ke pange kaun le”. But we should remember a day will come when we will not be there and our village will also cease to exist. Can you imagine Munirka not existing? The place which gave you everything! This is our motherland! Maybe we will not be able to see it today but who would answer the questions of our coming generations? The only way is to unite and work for our present and coming generations. To unite we will have to sacrifice this easy going life. Sometimes, you have to give it all up just to gather. We need to open our arms to our brothers and sisters, which at present are crossed firmly against our chests because of our excessive ego. However, our conscience would not keep quiet and we will try to find asylum in the notion of ‘practicality’. See it’s not practical you know! Everything falls in line thereafter. People march and give slogan in-front of us and we respond by our dull faces thinking these people are mad. We pray for them, “Let god give them mind to accept the things we cannot change” but they forget the other part of it which says “the power to change the things we can”. We believe, the power to bring the change is within us, not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! However, revolution must take place in men before it can be manifest in things. Thus, the greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart? It has to be in our spirit, it has to start with each one of us. Let us pledge to unite and fight for our rights. “Men, men, these are wanted: everything else will be ready, but strong, vigorous, believing young men, sincere to the backbone, are wanted. A human such and the world become revolutionized.” - Swami Vivekananda - Shekhar Tokas
