Kris Prather bowled his 2nd 300 of the season on December 23rd in the RCO Memorial at Deluna Lanes. His performance earned him the $500.00 special prize for the first member to roll two 300 games in the league. Kristopher has always been a dominating force in the Greater Pensacola area, but his notoriety exploded when he captured his first PBA title in 2011 beating the worlds best, Walter Ray Williams, in the title match. He proved that his win was no fluke when he captured his 2nd PBA title in 2013, beating the top ranked regional player, Kyle Troup, in the championship match. It also has to be noted that Kristopher did all of this as an amateur and has only competed in five PBA tournaments all told. Pretty good winning percentage! Kris will be leaving the amateur ranks affective January 1st and will be competing in his first PBA National Tournament as a professional, the PBA Player Championships, being held at Wauwatosa, Wisconsins Bowlero Lanes. Qualifying and bracket semi-finals will be held January 27th to 29th. Kris will be trying to gain a spot in the top five step ladder finals that will be bowled on February 14th and televised on ESPN. Kris will be joining his mentor, Todd Book, competing full time on the National Tour. Both Kris and Todd are Motiv representatives. Todd will be bowling in his 2nd televised PBA event after qualifying for the step ladder finals of the PBA World Championships. This will be aired live on ESPN January 11th at 12:00 Noon locally. Todd currently resides in Russells Point, Ohio, but is still a frequent visitor to Pensacola where his mother still lives. Good luck Todd on January 11th. Youve paid your dues both on and off the lanes. Your world record setting score for 6 games of 1680 during the Vegas League Championships at Deluna was a privilege to witness. I dont know of anyone more deserving in obtaining his goal than you. And, as for Kris, I think Rookie of the Year is well within your grasp. I will be pulling for both of you.
