Krishna is celebrated as ‘Ranachor’. Normally when somebody runs away from a battlefield, He is called a coward and He is condemned. There are many stories that when a Kshatriya returns home, while the war is going on, the wife would not open the door. It would be shameful. When the war is going on in the battlefield and the soldiers are fighting, a Kshatriya should be in the battlefield. He should not come home. So if someone comes away from a battlefield it is considered very deplorable. But when Krishna was in the battlefield and He got news that Rukmini was in distress. He wanted to go away and attend to Rukmini. So when He left the battlefield, normally from a Kshatriya’s consideration this is very deplorable. But in the case of Krishna when He does these things, it is not deplorable at all. He is glorified as Ranachor, one who ran away from the battlefield. So this is the Personality of Krishna.
