Kristen Maskerys image for The Beauty Project. This photo was taken last summer in Whistler, British Columbia. My family has family living there so we spent most of the summer travelling to and from my house to Whistler. I think this picture is beautiful because it brings out the essence in the environment. There is no litter, people or animals. When looking at this picture you can see different emotions in black and white than you do in colour. You can see a mysterious, a smooth, a calm and an elegant tone. This picture captures my eye because of the contrast between the forest and the mountains against the clouds, which is the lightest part of the picture but it intrigues the person looking at it because it is like a splatter of white on a black canvas.
