Krug by Krug Lovers is fantastic #becreative French Champagne maker Krug has tapped its most well-known advocates for a new coffee table book that celebrates the experience surrounding the brand’s spirit. Published by Assouline, “Krug by Krug Lovers” illustrates the Champagne maker’s history through the testimonies of those who love to drink its wares. By sharing the branded thoughts of its most devoted enthusiasts, Krug may have sway over unfamiliar consumers who come across the collectible, but do not regularly drink the brand’s Champagne. The 192-paged Krug by Krug Lovers is, just as the title suggests, an illustrated book of musings from famous Champagne drinkers set amid archival images from the house of Krug. Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug and “perpetuated and enriched” by the six generations of descendants that have followed, the volume is positioned as a tribute to “those whose hearts and souls were touched by Krug.” This appreciation and love is what drove the house to evolve, according to Assouline. The book includes more than 100 historical and newly discovered images to explore Krug’s heritage. To create a personal connection with those featured and readers, the book includes quotes and anecdotes from the most dedicated Krug Lovers around the world. Krug Lovers featured range from legends such as Boni de Castellane and Ernest Hemingway to food and wine experts such as Arnaud Lallement and Hiroyuki Kanda, both Michelin 3-star chefs, artists Keziah Jones and Georges Rousse and icons including Serge Gainsbourg and Karl Lagerfeld. Cellar master Olivier Krug penned the foreword for Krug by Krug Lovers, while the head of Sotheby’s international wine department Serena Sutcliffe wrote the book’s introduction. Books are often created as a celebratory mark of a company or brand’s successes. For example, Condé Nast’s W magazine is giving its past fashion coverage a new lease on life with a book focusing on ten of its most memorable stories. W Stories, published by Abrams Books, was written by the magazine’s editor-in-chief Stefano Tonchi to elaborate on the avant-garde fashion stories that have become its signature over the last twenty years. Though many fashion enthusiasts hold onto issues that strike a cord, creating a coffee table volume allows the brand to make a more lasting impression
