Kudos for Dr.Yaqub for a really investigative piece ,Why dont they rebel?,about the ground realities and historical background of the current status-quo. The real cause of the current maladies has been rightly identified by him as the feudal mind-set of the ruling classes. I wrote in my note under,Tarnished beauty published in Newsweek,September 30,2002, how difficult it was for Benazir to get rid of this feudal mentality as it was in case of her father Z.A.Bhutto despite academic exposure in the best institutions. So I wrote Bhutto ,the public leader couldnt be hanged but no one could and did save Bhutto,the feudal lord. Dr.Yaqubs brief is a required call for an Arab Spring of our own.
