Kudos to Brandeis University and its President Fred Lawrence for the apology that I received after an undergraduate student accused me of hate speech when there was no hate involved. I had objected to their decision to not award an honorary degree to a former muslim who had become an outspoken critic of islam. The admission that a mistake was made was all that I wanted to hear and that was acknowledged. The student has been cautioned on her representation of the school on social media without doing adequate research which resulted in the besmirching of the Universities reputation.
