Kudos to Breaking Bad: Cinematic Technique: The Shovel Cam, The Toilet Cam: Before your movie, I never knew what it was like to be plunged in a toilet bowl or what a shovel felt like being utilized. The Use of Time Lapse Photography throughout: I thought that the use of time lapse over the length of the series made us all feel like we were on meth. Not since Stanley Kubrick used unique editing techniques to tell a story in the classic caper film, “The Killing”, and used by Quentin T. in “Pulp Fiction”, “Breaking Bad” used this technique in the best most compelling way possible. Characters: World weary hit man Mike Erhmantruat: I wept when he died. R.J. Mitte: kudos to you and your character. Krysten Ritter, a new Betty Page? The Salamanca twins: a sad case of PTSD. Gale Boetticher: I wept when he died. John de Lancie, not since he played “Q” on “Star Trek: The Next Generation has he been so compelling. By the way, you can see the great Jonathan Banks on the classic TV series of the 80’s, “Wise Guy”.
