Kudos to West Haven High School Band seniors, who planned a creative surprise for faculty and staff of WHHS on Teacher Appreciation Day. The students formed a small ensemble and organized a carpool to get themselves to the high school by 6am in order to be in place for the first teacher who arrived. As faculty and staff entered the building, band members played the theme from Rocky and created a finish line for teachers to cross. They also handed our a trophy to the first teacher to arrive, Mr. Scott Schevling, and medals and gold stars that read We Appreciate You. WHHS Band Assistant Field Leader and Video Production Crew Chief Michael Kiaunis, who helped to organize the entire thing, also edited together video clips from it as well.
