Kudos to the CCSU Campus Police, Newington and New Britain P.D.s and the CCSU system of alerting and locking down their campus. Students, staff and faculty averted a potential disaster with a 911 call reporting someone on campus with a gun and a sword. Police responded within minutes. The campus alert system was activated with Twitter and e-mail alerts, an alarm sounding followed by an announcement and everyone went into lock down until the suspects were apprehended. There were no shots fired and no injuries. From my perspective....I am delighted that we do not have to activate the crisis response systems for another major incident in CT. Job well done CCSU. I am glad you are all safe and your system worked, so mine doesnt have to be activated.
