Kung Fu Divas starring Ai Ai de las Alas and Marian Rivera kicks ass on screen as twins separated by birth and brought again together by mystical forces. With a rough start, the two characters slowly build their friendship with the help of a Chinese warrior played by Edward Mendez (who I hope did not suffer from pneumonia after the shooting since he remained shirtless most of the film and yeah mate, with gym and yoga your body is rock hard! We get it!) Its surprising that Ai and Marian had onscreen chemistry bringing the audience through their hardships and happiness. Funny and Judy Ann Santos dramatic sequences, the movie is your typical Filipino film minus the song ensemble. Topbilled by powerhouse cast, it is a movie with a heart. And although the producers fought hard to make this movie kungfuesque which they moderately succeeded, they still need to perfect their special effects. 2 and 1/2 popcorns.
