Kung Hay Fat Choi, which means Wishing you Prosperity”. It is a celebration of the Chinese New Year that lasts for 15 days. People wear new clothing featuring mainly the colour red because it is believed that red will scare away evil spirits and bad fortune. The fifteenth day of the Chinese New Year is celebrated as Yuánxiāo Jié otherwise known as “Chap Goh Mei” in Fujian dialect. As per Chinese Zoadiac, 2014 is Year of the Horse - Horse people are said to be energetic, intelligent and are commonly physically strong. They like to stay at peaceful places. They are very good when it comes to communicating with other people around them, thus making them sociable and they are quite friendly too. Horses love crowded places as well as entertainment. Because of the Horse natural friendly characteristic, he is loved by many. In current times, we have been too absorbed with topics related to race, religion and politics only. Where are we heading to or what are are we trying to achieve? All of us should take time to reflect what we have and what others don’t have. Let us be thankful to the the Almighty, to be blessed with good things and pray that we only see more good things in future for all of us.
