Diyarbakir, Turkey: The Kayapinar Municipality has launched a humanitarian aid campaign titled as To act in solidarity with Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava), lets share our Ramadan meals with Rojava to support the people in Rojava somewhat against barbaric attacks at Kobanê. Diyarbakırs Kayapinar Municipality, which is run by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), aggreed with 16 markets and their branches to collect the aid. The special form of islamic alms-charity (fitre) will be turned into food supplies and these foods will be sent to Rojava within the scope of humanitarian aid campaign. The aid will be collected from 60 various points. The aid will be gathered up daily by the municipality in the main storage. Giving information concerning the campaign, Kayapınar Municipality Assembly member Hüseyin Çelik said: A humane drama is being suffered on grounds the attacks of gangs at Rojava and Kobanê. The people here are going on their lives under difficult conditions. As the municipality, we launched such a campaign to act in solidarity with Rojava people. This is the campaign of vitalizing Kurdish people. The month of Ramadan is at the same time the month of solidarity and fraternity, noted Kayapınar Municipality Assembly member Feride Gülkorkmaz and underlined: The campaign will not continue only in the month of Ramadan. As long as the war and embargo in Rojava continue, campaign will also continue.
