Kuttipuram, 27th August 2014: A debate was held on the topic “Does poverty lead to crime?” which was the 26th in the series of SOLD (speak out loud debate). A socially relevant topic was chosen so that the students would think deeper about the situations prevailing in the present day society. The debate was mediated by Ms. Basila (chairperson, IEEE SB MESCE). The topic saw strong points being fiercely stated on both sides and the debate was winded up by the branch counselor Dr. Anzar S. M. with a short speech summing up the debate as a draw.
