Kuwait welcomes Sisi visit Ashraf Sadek -Cairo President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi, heading a high-level official team, tomorrow starts a state visit to Kuwait, where he is scheduled to hold talks with Emir Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah on bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest. Top Kuwaiti Government officials have welcomed the visit and lauded the friendly ties between the two countries, saying that President Sisi will be a “dear guest”. “Relations between Kuwait and Egypt are historical and deeply-rooted at the political and popular levels, Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in press statements. The Egyptian-Kuwaiti friendly would grow to higher levels because the two countries’ leaders were to promote them, he added. President Sisi is due to visit Kuwait on January 5 at an invitation from Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Presidential office said on Saturday. The Sisi-Sabah summit meeting is expected to focus on enhancing political and economic cooperation ties between the two countries, the Egyptian TV reported, adding that the two leaders would also review a host of regional and international issues of bilateral concern. On bilateral ties, Sisi-Al-Sabah talks would also discuss the possibility of increasing the volume of Kuwaiti investments in Egypt, the TV added. The visit to Kuwait is within the framework of President Sisi’s continued efforts and contacts to strengthen relations between Egypt and the member states of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) in all domains, it added. President Sisi has travelled to Saudi Arabia in August and is expected to visit Bahrain and the UAE early this year. President Sisis visi to Kuwait comes two months ahead of an international economic conference to be hosted by the Cairo Government with the aim of attracting foreign capital. During the visit, President Sisi will also invite top Kuwaiti investors to attend the conference, which will be held in the Red Sear resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh. Travelling with President Sisi will be top Government officials, the TV said.
