Kwande/Ushongo House of Reps 2015: A Sealed Deal for Bob - TopicsExpress

Kwande/Ushongo House of Reps 2015: A Sealed Deal for Bob Tyough By Iorhen Denen It appears that the deal has been done long ago, not 9th September, 2014 when Robert Aondona Tyough a. k. a. Bob Tyough met with the Traditional Institution and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP structure in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State. Ushongo is one of the two local governments that make up Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituencies and Bob, in fulfillment of his earlier promise when the two local governments met with him at Adikpo to discuss the way forward for the constituency held consultative talks with the two parallel but complementary bodies at Ter Ushongos residence and Lessel respectively. Though the Ushongo consultative meet started with party stakeholders following the engagement of the Ter Ushongo in another programme, every single traditional ruler in the area spoke approvingly of the aspirant. The warning however was that no powers should come from elsewhere again to deny the aspirant of the federal job. Bob is said to have won the support of the people in his previous dealings with them. The Federal Board chairman during the 2011 electioneering process built bridges for the ruling PDP, a marked reliable sources from Kwande say are a plus for his 2015 campaign. The most significant thing about him that seems to attract the sympathy of the people is that he neither decamped, nor got upset with anybody when he lost the partys ticket. This endeared him to the people. Bob Tyough is due for the federal job and should be allowed to sail through, this much appears to be the consensus in Ushongo, it is observed. To Ter Ushongo, who concluded the talks after hearing from his council, its green lights for the Nanev born and the burden is on politicians to do same. He noted with gratitude the aspirants humility saying they will sent him on expedition to bring game for them. According to Ter Ushongo, the testimony of the people about Bob is a plus for his aspirations. Earlier at Lessel in separate meetings with PDP caucus and elders in Ushongo, Bob who is counting on the support of the PDP structure in the area to win the PDP lone ticket for the 2015 elections was overwhelmed by the reception. He could not hide it when he declared: I did not expect people this much. I am pleased to have seen you come up in these numbers and I hope to keep doing my best not to disappoint you. He was indeed elated particularly by the revelations by speakers at the meeting with the two groups. The Hon. Atsaga Anemba led Ushongo PDP caucus believes Kwande (Barakuv) is right to claim the lower chambers of the National Assembly following the zoning of senate to Governor Gabriel Suswam and Bob Tyough seems a perfect match. Anemba who is pleased with the conduct of the would be federal lawmaker encouraged fellow caucus members in Ushongo to do the needful while urging Kwande to do same in order to fast track development in their area. And for the elders, it was Hon Jiryila Katsina-Alu who concluded that in addition to Bob, important people from Kwande who are expressing solidarity with the aspirations of Bob are enough reason to support the young man for the federal job. He was of the view that deeds whether good or bad pay and Bob should be considered for what is due to him. But Bob, in his characteristic manner went before the groups with appeal to go in for the people of Kwande/Ushongo. One other message he carried along was message for those who, would want to canvass support for him. Do not insult, fight or cause fight in my name. The struggle is a peaceful cause and for the good of our people. Let us go about it in the most peaceful atmosphere, through appeal to the people, he declared. He intimated that I am motivated to join politics because of my thinking that when you are in government, there is much more that you can do for your people. He also declared that if given the chance in 2015, he would use the connections he has built over time in addition to his finances to ensure accelerated access to basic needs in his constituency.
