In a statement signed by his political aide, Alhaji Abdullateef Oloyin, which was made available to journalists in Ilorin, on Wednesday, the senatorial candidate urged people to refrain from fanning embers of disunity. I urge you to continue to live in peace, for it is only by living in peaceful and harmonious co-existence, by respecting each others right to live freely and by being our brothers keepers, that we can truly have a new lease of life in the new year, he said. Alhaji Abdulrasaq, who also appealed for vigilance among the people during the 2015 general election,said people must be assertive in ensuring that they exercise their civil rights and vote rightly. He assured his supporters that he would fulfill all his campaign promises if elected as senator in 2015, saying that he had dedicated his victory at the primaries to his people. The PDP candidate, who said that emancipation of his people was utmost in his mind, added that his senatorial district would experience development during his tenure. He expressed optimist on his candidature, saying he could defeat his opponent at the poll. Our people are tasty for positive development because they are tired of endless promises. My people have reposed their trust and confidence in me and I will never let them down because my senatorial district will witness unprecedented development in all ramifications, he said.
