Kwinana Police stopped a red ute on Sunday afternoon to spread - TopicsExpress

Kwinana Police stopped a red ute on Sunday afternoon to spread some Christmas cheer. As they alighted from their vehicle and approached, the ute sped off without warning. Confused and upset that the driver did not wish to indulge in their festive community spirit, naturally the Police got back into their car and followed. A pursuit eventuated and continued through Kwinana until the car turned into Gilmove Avenue. The driver, approaching the red traffic lights at Chisham Avenue, slowed his vehicle and displayed a complete disregard for public safety by ploughing his way through the moving traffic. He made it through, smashing several other vehicles in the process, before dumping his somewhat bent vehicle in Calista. The driver then made like a Reindeer and made a dash for it. *ahem* Unfortunately for him his little legs could not carry him fast enough, and he was collared by another nearby patrol. Turns out the offender drove off simply because he doesnt have a licence and is disqualified from getting one. As a result of his actions he has been charged with not only driving without a licence, but also Aggravated Reckless Driving, Aggravated Fail to Stop, and Failing to Stop where property damage has occurred. And yes, this time we were able to refuse his bail. Fortunately no-one was hurt and everyone gets to enjoy Christmas dinner with their family, except at least one fellow who will be enjoying a juice and turkey sandwich this Christmas as he waits for his court date later this week! ~T1~
