Kyle Anthony Calderon 1 hr · New York, NY · As China shows that it is now a leading global power in both finance and military its very intriguing seeing how the younger generation wants democracy so bad. Even though Hong Kong was transferred sovereignty in 1997 the citizens are no longer promised a fully democratic election. The US does renege on certain things (2nd amendment) but how come its so hard for us to get together like those of the Chinese. Are we so spoiled into thinking that America has always been great so greatness will prevail in the future? Lets not assume that things will get done without the voice of our generation. My point is if you believe in something dont keep quiet about it. We have the privilege of social media to spread the word without the government shutting down facebook, twitter etc like they do in China.
