Kyle Wilson A free upcoming event- Members of the Southwestern IL Indian Artifact Group would like to invite you to their 5th Annual Indian Artifact Show to be held on Saturday, April 12th from 8am to 3pm at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex just North of Sparta IL off of IL Rt. 4. Admission to this event is free and its members encourage everybody in the community to come out and learn more about our local prehistoric past. There will also be a flintknapper (Larry Kinsella) doing educational demonstrations throughout the day for bystanders and youngsters including boy scouts, and girl scouts. We also encourage those with collections of arrowheads or axes to bring them along to learn more about their history. There will be roughly 70 exhibitors with tables full of locally found artifacts on display.. Some dealers will also be on-hand and they will be looking to buy and sell Indian artifacts. Reproduction artifacts will not be allowed to be displayed or sold at this event. Some Award of Excellence plaques will be presented to exhibitors who have the best displays. One Best Personal Find plaque will be awarded and anyone can enter their best artifact to try to win this specific award.
