Kylie is out of surgery and doing well. They were just in and said - TopicsExpress

Kylie is out of surgery and doing well. They were just in and said its remarkable how good shes doing moving around and communicating. Doctors told me if we would have waited any longer she would have died. She had two tumors on the brain explode causing hemorrhaging which clogged the pathway for any of the fluid or blood to drain. The pressure was intense. As soon as they were able to release the pressure the swelling in the brain started to come down very nicely. By the grace of God, no injury to the brain occurred. Her eyes are still going to the left, but hopefully that will clear up in a few days. In the mean time she will have an MRI and be placed on a EEG for seizure monitoring for the next 24 hours at least. She also has a tube coming from the top of her skull for any extra fluid needing to be drained. What a scary 48 hours. It started Monday morning when I brought her into urgent care at 330 am for waking up three times during the night screaming uncontrollably. She was scratching her skin all over including her head so we thought it was an allergic reaction to the trial meds. She got two doses of Benadryl and slept the entire day. She would only wake up to vomit then go back to sleep. We didnt get out of Urgent care til 530 last night. We took her home and she was still extremely sleepy. She would open her eyes for a few minutes, but would just stare into space. I called the doctor at 9pm and we decided to give her some Tylenol incase it was a head ache or maybe symptoms of a flu. She was also sweating profusely. 330 am rolled around and my mother in law heard Kylie rip off her chest dressing... Kylie was sleeping in between us... I turned on the lights and Kylies eyes were looking over to the left, but wouldnt move any other way. She also ripped her earring out. I tried sitting her up, but she was like a rag doll. Only moving with aggressive jerks. We packed up as quickly as possible. By the time we got outside she wasnt responding to me at all and she wouldnt open her eyes. There were no available taxis, but thank you to the angel who was in one and let us get in with her. We got to the hospital and immediately went in for a CT. Things happened so quickly at that point. They wanted to drill a hole in Kys skull to put a drain tube in at the bedside with no sedation, but I just couldnt agree to that. Luckily one minute later the OR was ready for her and we didnt even have to get to that point. They have such an amazing team here. Everyone came together and got her into surgery so fast. We are feeling extremely grateful this happened here and not on the 6 hour plane ride home. She would have died. I cant explain the love and gratitude I have in my heart for each one of you. You have all stood by our sides through every smile, laugh, bump, and bruise we have endured along the way. Thank you for loving our girl as if she was one of your own. We are forever grateful and blessed for our wonderful family in Christ.
