L E A D E R’s ACROSTIC L - LISTENING: A leader should be committed to the highest good of the people. He should listen and be sensitive to and pursue their legitimate claims, aims and aspirations. He is not to be a lord over the people. E - EXAMPLE: He should be a motivator and mentor. A worthy example. A - ACTION: He should be action oriented, a master in the discipline of execution. He should not be a procrastinator where a definite decision and action is called for. D - DISCIPLINE: Life is about discipline. Discipline is self leadership. You should be able to lead yourself before you can lead others: ‘Physician, heal thyself’. Can you put your body ‘under’, bridle the flesh, your appetites, your desires and not be ruled by base instincts? E - EXPERIENCE: Novices should not be given positions of responsibility. Past record of being a good follower and good problem solver are critical credentials. A leader should not be intimidated or overwhelmed by circumstances or situations. R - READING: Readers are leaders and leaders are readers. A leader should read voraciously to be ahead of others especially in this digital dispensation. If you are not reading, you are not ready. - School of Vision, Inspiration and Protocol (VIP)
