L-gheluq permanenti tal-pjazza / Permanent closure of Qala square. NIxtieq incara xi diskors li ghaddej rigward l-gheluq permanenti tal-pjazza. Hawn xi whud li qed ixerdu il-kliem li l-pjazza ser tinghalaq permanenti ghall-karozzi. Dan mhux ser jsehh ghax 1) fil-kuntratt li sar bejn il-knisja u l-kunsill biex titranga l-pjazza hemm miktub li l-pjazza ser tibqa miftuha. 2) meta ddiskutejna l-progett tal-pjazza fil-kunsill kollha kemm ahna qbilna li l-pjazza ser tibqa miftuha, u 3) l-pjazza hi propjeta tal-knisja u l-kelma finali hi tal-knisja u l-knisja mhix ser taghlaq il-pjazza. Allura nahseb ahjar ma nibqghux noholqu kontroversji ghas semplici raguni biex noholqu il-firda fost il-Qalin ghal- xejn. Anzi nappella biex ninghaqdu u kif nistghu, naghtu daqqa t’id biex ikollna festa mill-aqwa. Il-festa t-tajba lill-kulhadd. I wish to clarify the rumours that are going round in regards to the closure of the Qala square. There are some amongst us who intentionally are spreading the word that the square is going to close permanently to cars. This is not going to happen because : 1) In the contract that was signed between the council and the church, it was written that the square is going to stay open, 2) When we discussed the pjazza project at the council , we all agreed that the square shall remain open to cars and 3) The pjazza is the property of the church and the church itself has the final say on whether it closes and the church is going to leave it as it is, open to cars. Therefore I think it is better for those amongst us to stop creating controversies for the simple reason to create division between Qala residents. Actually I appeal to all, to unite and give a helping hand so we can have a great festa. Happy festa to all.
