#LA Literally a week after the water main break in Westwood, Tuesday around 11 a.m., we had a main leak in the 8th district on Van Ness Ave between 60th Street and Hyde Park Boulevard. I was pleased to see DWP on the scene in a timely matter and working diligently to stop the leaks. Services were restored to 25 affected homes and businesses later that evening and no injuries or property damage was reported. There was another water main break near Venice the same day and then near the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday. I certainly hope this isn’t the start of a trend in the midst of this monumental drought and I hope the DWP gets cracking on providing a report on the state of pipes throughout the city that Council requested. nbclosangeles/news/local/Hyde-Park-Chesterfield-Square-Water-Main-Break-Leak-270047931.html
