LAGOS TRAFFIC: PAINS AND GAINS Well I was born and grew up in a time when you could go from sango to VI in 45 mins(only because the 404,505,VW couldnt run faster), we used to all help wash the only 505 on my street for some baba dudu or nasco biscuits and somehow over the years contrary to reports, everyone got richer...tenants became landlords and conductors became drivers, molues reduced and uncompleted buildings became mansions. Last Friday, I decided to take my girlfriend out on a date to a cinema somewhere in yaba, first I spent 30 minutes looking for where to park and just when I did,we couldnt see the movie, we just hung out, ate a little and headed back home... I left yaba 4:25pm and did not get home till 9pm. The traffic was so bad that we ate three sets of gala n lacasera. Lagos traffic; as tideous as it is has its comic angle, see fights everywhere due to collission, passenger fighting for her change, hawkers chasing a moving car etc. I recall seeing a woman selling knives,a guy hawking meat, roadside woman selling pepper,a boy hawking stoves and a filling station coming up in the next busstop.....then I have an IDEA!!!
