LAHORE, (SANA): Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan has condemned the carnage in Syria due to chemical attack by the Syrian army and deplored the silence of the Arab League, the OIC, the UN Security Council and other international forums over the bloodshed. In a statement here on Thursday, he called upon the Pakistan government, the Muslim world and international human rights bodies to play their role in stopping this bloodshed. The JI Ameer said that last week, the Egyptian army bulldozed its own women and children, killing thousands, and now the Syrian troops had massacred thousands in chemical attack. However, the world as a whole was a silent spectator and had not raised vice over the tragedy. The Muslim rulers too were not taking any interest in stopping this massacre. Syed Munawar Hasan also expressed deep concern over the rumors being spread by the Egyptian army that ousted president Dr Mursi had committed suicide. He said that a staunch Muslim like Dr Mursi could not even think of committing suicide. Dr Mursi, he said, had spent years in jail and had refused to yield to the pressure by the US, Israel and the Egyptian army during his one year rule. The JI Ameer was sure that the era of the current Pharoahs too would end in failure because of the continuing struggle and the great sacrifices being made by the Egyptian people. He said that the rumors regarding suicide being spread by the Sisi regime was alarming as it indicated the general’s unholy designs. He said that over four thousand of innocent Egyptian civilians including the elected president, the Ikhwanul Muslimoon chief, were behind bars, and were being subjected to worst torture. He said the Human Rights Watch had confirmed these facts but the world community was criminally silent. He demanded release of the innocent prisoners put behind the bars and trial of the Egyptian and Syrian rulers before ht international court for the killing of thousands of innocent people. The JI Ameer also expressed deep grief over the heavy loss of life and property caused by the heavy rains and floods and slated the government inability to provide relief to the affected millions. He said the Prime Minister in his address to the nation, had talked of the flood but had conveniently passed on the responsibility of relief and rehabilitation to the provincial governments, which too were not taking concrete measures in this regard. Thousands of people had been stuck up in the flood affected areas. He said the release of water by India had caused vast destruction. He said that despite the forecast of heavy rains, the government had not taken precautionary measures to minimize the losses.
